One of the most important Greentrac innovation is the functionality of automated shut down and power up. If PCs are not used in the company for a while – for example overnight or during weekends – they can be shut down automatically by the software. The resulting savings can be enormous: a single computer which remains switched on during night hours can cause additional costs up to € 100 per year. To improve the individual energy efficiency, employees can even set cycles during which the PC shuts down automatically – for example during weekly recurring meetings. Once the employee returns from the meeting, the PC will boot up automatically.
The automatic shutdowns do not interfere with the maintenance cycle of the PC fleet: in the event of important software updates, the PC automatically turns on for the duration of the installation and then automatically shuts down after deployment.
